Who we are

Aloha, my name is Jasmine—creator of Sol Amor.

Sol Amor was born on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, where I spent years working as a surf instructor. I created this product out of desperation.

I’d always had strong, healthy hair, but the constant exposure to saltwater and sun was causing my hair to split and break—no matter how much I rinsed or conditioned.

That’s when I began looking for a product that could help my hair while also keeping the reef safe. I did not find any. So I started experimenting with natural oils and carefully adjusting ratios until I found the perfect blend—a formula I’ve personally used for the past five years (that feels crazy to say).

From the very beginning, my vision for Sol Amor was simple: Protect hair from sun and salt damage.
Protect the ocean with sustainable, non-toxic ingredients.

We only use natural, non-toxic ingredients that are safe for you and the sea. Every product is packaged in reusable, metal tin cans and sent with compostable packaging mailers.

Sol Amor is my love letter to the ocean, to strong hair, and my way of sharing a little aloha and Big Island magic with the world.
